About the position

The Surgical Technician II plays a crucial role in the Operating Room by providing essential support to the surgical team. This position is responsible for maintaining accountability for surgical instruments, coordinating patient care, and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. The role aligns with Mercy's mission of compassionate care and exceptional service, contributing to a healing ministry.

Responsibilities

• Perform the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.
• Maintain accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.
• Coordinate the care of the surgical patient with other team members.
• Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained.
• Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Requirements

• High-School Diploma or GED required.
• Surgical Technology experience or a degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Ability to understand English both written and spoken.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Surgical Technology Certification preferred.
