About the position

The Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) plays a crucial role in the operating room, functioning as a key member of the surgical team under the supervision of a registered nurse. This position involves assisting in the care of patients across all age groups, ensuring high-quality nursing care during surgical procedures. The role requires a commitment to the organization and adherence to established protocols and standards in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Provide intraoperative care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth surgical operations.
• Handle and care for surgical instruments and equipment properly.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon required.
• Successful completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or equivalent military training.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
• Experience or training in computer applications preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
