About the position

The Surveillance Investigator is responsible for conducting internal and external investigations to protect casino guests, team members, and assets. This role involves collaboration with property management and law enforcement to gather and report information and video surveillance for legal proceedings, ensuring compliance with established policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors sensitive and restricted access areas to ensure authorized personnel access only.
  • Completes routine video reviews, reports, log entries, and other functions accurately.
  • Monitors processes to ensure compliance with cash handling regulations and procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of current regulations, controls, policies, and standards for compliance.
  • Maintains security of designated areas and confidentiality of relevant information.
  • Reports technical issues, suspicious behavior, security risks, illegal activity, and violations to management.
  • Utilizes equipment and applications to identify, document, and report illegal and unusual activities.
  • Records video footage of irregularities and generates reports accordingly.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State gaming regulations.
  • Conducts investigations of cheating, criminal activities, and procedural violations.
  • Assists casino management in resolving disputes or discrepancies in gaming activities.
  • Works closely with the Director of Surveillance and management team to meet departmental needs.
  • Conducts self in accordance with company purpose and department procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled in a GED program with completion within 6 months of start date.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • One (1) year of casino surveillance experience required.
  • Two (2) years of surveillance/CCTV, loss prevention, investigations, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Genetec security center platform and iView systems iTrak incident reporting module preferred.
  • Knowledge of SDS, CMP, and econnect systems preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word and basic math preferred.
  • High level of maturity with the ability to self-manage.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English, spelling, punctuation, and writing composition.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Willingness to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in training as required.
  • Valid and current State Driver's License and insurable driving record required.
  • Occupational License (or ability to obtain) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act.

Nice-to-haves
