About the position
The Survey Assistant position at P&J involves performing various surveying tasks using traditional methods and entry-level Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills. The role focuses on producing precise and accurate survey results in a timely manner, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and various electronic data collectors.
- Position and hold surveying rods to locate and record measurements.
- Utilize entry-level CAD software to create and modify simple surveying drawings and plans under guidance.
Requirements
- Strong math skills.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to critical problems.
- Good oral and written skills to communicate on multiple levels with various clients and co-workers.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Desire to work outdoors year-round.
- Must be a self-starter with the desire to learn and advance.
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to or coursework in CAD is a plus.
