About the position

The Survey CAD Designer will focus on drafting and designing land surveys for various projects, including commercial, private development, and public agency initiatives in West Michigan. This role involves utilizing survey field data to create construction plans and requires collaboration with project management and engineering teams. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Survey Project Management, Survey Team, and Civil Engineering Team to detail construction plans for project design.
• Utilize CAD standards for project designs.
• Create surfaces, alignments, and profiles for grade, utilities, and layout using CAD and Civil 3D.
• Produce topographic, boundary, ALTA, and As-Built Surveys.
• Import survey data, collected by survey field team, into Civil 3D.
• Calculate scope, area, volume, etc. for land survey projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of land survey drafting or design for Topographic, Boundary, ALTA, or As-Built Surveys.
• 3+ years of experience using Civil 3D for survey or civil design projects.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Survey field experience running surveys or collecting data for Topographic, Boundary, ALTA, or As-Built Surveys.
• Experience in survey or civil engineering projects for K-12 education/school or commercial projects.
• Experience operating survey equipment/technology such as Leica, Trimble, Total Station, or related.
