About the position
The Survey CAD Technician at Sambatek, Inc. is responsible for preparing various types of surveys, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and subdivision plats. This role involves utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to create and interpret CAD drawings, processing survey data, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project outcomes. The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing for remote, hybrid, or in-office arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Perform research and gather data for new and ongoing projects
- Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
- Create and interpret 3D surface models
- Read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and plats
- Maintain and organize digital and paper survey records
- Collaborate with planners, project managers, and engineers regarding projects
- Interact daily with field crews and provide direction and support for ongoing projects
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of survey related AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- General knowledge of field survey procedures and equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro
Nice-to-haves
- Associate's degree in a land surveying related field and/or formal CAD training
- Land Surveyor In Training
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
- MicroStation and ArcGIS experience
- Previous survey field crew experience
- Understand construction plans and general construction principles
- Experience with aerial photo and lidar data processing and extraction (Part 107 pilot license)
