About the position
As a Geomatics Technician at SAM, you will play a crucial role in supporting both office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final deliverables for land surveying projects. This position involves utilizing advanced technology in the A/E/C industry to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and principles.
Responsibilities
- Process data utilizing SAM standards, ensuring accuracy and sufficiency.
- Monitor field crew's production and quality assurance.
- Prepare survey plats, drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
- Perform quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables prepared by other technicians.
- Coordinate with supervisor to meet client-specific demands.
Requirements
- 5+ years of field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing.
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus, but not necessary.
