About the position

As a Geomatics Technician at SAM, you will play a crucial role in supporting both office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final deliverables for land surveying projects. This position involves utilizing advanced technology in the A/E/C industry to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and principles.

Responsibilities

• Process data utilizing SAM standards, ensuring accuracy and sufficiency while complying with applicable land survey project principles.
• Monitor field crew's production and quality assurance.
• Prepare survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
• Perform quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables prepared by other technicians.
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure client-specific demands are met.

Requirements

• 5+ years of field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing.
• Strong computer and technical skills; proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
• Proficiency in technical math; knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry is a plus.
• Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus, but not necessary.
