About the position

The Survey Crew Chief at McClure is responsible for leading survey projects in the Lenexa metro area, ensuring effective communication with Project Managers and Engineers to define the scope of fieldwork. This role is suitable for individuals with a construction or technical background, and McClure is open to training new team members alongside experienced Crew Chiefs. The position requires a strong understanding of land surveying procedures and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey projects and maintain constant communication with Project Managers and Engineers.
• Define and obtain the scope of fieldwork needed for projects.
• Demonstrate knowledge of field staking procedures for land surveying and construction staking.
• Understand the end result of fieldwork as it relates to project design and scope.
• Manage conflicts that may arise on survey sites.
• Read and interpret civil drawings and construction codes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years related experience preferred, including technical or construction backgrounds.
• Ability to obtain a Land Survey Intern or Professional Registration.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of earthworks, foundation construction, wall construction, site utilities, and paving.
• Experience in construction processes and construction codes.
