About the position

The Survey Crew Chief at Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is responsible for leading and managing various land survey operations. This role involves supervising staff, conducting surveys, preparing and verifying mathematical calculations, and ensuring the accuracy of field data. The position requires a combination of technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and project success.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff in land survey operations.
• Conduct boundary, topography, leveling, and design surveys.
• Utilize a full range of survey equipment and basic computer skills.
• Prepare and verify mathematical calculations related to surveying and engineering.
• Maintain accurate survey records, field notes, and reports.
• Conduct project research and secure necessary equipment.
• Ensure safety techniques are followed during survey operations.
• Analyze record data, deeds, and plats for property control.
• Provide information to the public regarding surveying activities.
• Track and maintain survey supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year of related experience or training.
• Current, valid Driver's License.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Basic data collection skills and CAD proficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Above average mathematical knowledge and computer skills.

• P.S. or L.S.I.T. certification preferred but not required.
