About the position

The Survey Research Assistant/Technical Associate I position at the MIT Sloan Initiative on the Digital Economy involves conducting and analyzing survey data to ensure accuracy and high-quality results. The role requires advanced skills in R for data wrangling, cleaning, and visualization, as well as the ability to present complex information clearly. The assistant will document processes, maintain organized records, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on group projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and analyze survey data to ensure accuracy and high-quality results.
  • Utilize advanced R skills for data wrangling, cleaning, and visualization.
  • Present complex information in a clear and understandable manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, economics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions.
  • Proven experience in survey data analysis with previous code examples.
  • Advanced proficiency in R, including data wrangling/cleaning and visualizations.
  • Advanced ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Relevant research and/or work experience in survey research.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in teams and make meaningful contributions to group/interdisciplinary projects.
  • Proven data analysis and visualization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, economics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in artificial intelligence, algorithms, hardware, software, and/or economics.
