About the position

The Survey Technician position at Thomas & Hutton involves providing quality service and project support within the Survey Department. The role requires expertise in surveying practices, including the preparation of various types of surveys and drawings using AutoCAD. The technician will work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, contributing to both public and private client projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings in AutoCAD and other software as required.
• Develop final plats, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys.
• Conduct property line resolution and create surfaces as needed.
• Read and interpret plats, deeds, easements, and plans.
• Work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying preferred.
• 3+ years of Surveying experience in Construction, Boundaries, and Topographic Surveys.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, with Autodesk Civil 3D and Carlson Software preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• CST Level I or II (Office) certification preferred.
• Experience in a variety of surveying practices and procedures.
