About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in collecting and analyzing data for various surveying projects, utilizing advanced surveying tools and software, and applying a strong foundation in mathematics and geometry. The Survey Technician will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and efficient survey results.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D CAD software to draft detailed plans and maps based on survey findings.
• Calculate stake-out points for construction projects.
• Diligently check as-staked files, site plans, and field notes.
• Communicate with clients regarding scope, schedule, etc.
• Employ GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technologies, including ArcGIS, for data analysis and visualization.
• Collaborate with team members to prepare reports and documentation of survey results.
• Apply mathematical principles such as algebra and geometry in calculations related to land measurements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using Civil 3D is highly desirable.
• Experience using TBC for data processing.
• Familiarity with GIS applications, particularly ArcGIS, is preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of algebra and geometry, are essential for accurate data analysis.
• Previous experience in drafting or utility locating will be considered an asset.
• A background that includes field experience is preferable.
