About the position
The position involves directing and supervising all disciplines related to safety, productivity, and quality layout for a project. The role requires ensuring that craft workers perform their tasks safely and efficiently while adhering to project specifications and drawings. The supervisor will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and motivating the team to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
- Ensure surveyors are qualified and provide on-the-job training as needed.
- Conduct task planning and teach safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Hold tool box meetings to communicate safety concerns and work plans to crews.
- Review crew's timecards for accuracy in hours and phase coding.
- Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing to ensure adequate supply of tools and materials.
- Monitor and report quantities of work accomplished on a daily/weekly basis.
- Complete performance reviews of craft workers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in the field.
- Thorough knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft workers.
- Ability to perform task planning and train on safety practices.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, material control, and job cost management systems.
- Effective communication skills to convey instructions and feedback to craft workers and management.
- Strong motivational and team player skills.
