Responsibilities

• Works as a member of a survey crew collecting and recording data.
• Measures distances and angles using electronic and mechanical measuring devices.
• Checks filed notes and books.
• Computes elevation.
• Takes notes and makes sketches.
• Clears brush; marks and drives stakes.
• Cleans and cares for equipment.
• Sets up and operates GPS equipment.
• Interacts with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
• May have a role in the County's disaster preparation and/or disaster recovery efforts.
• Must demonstrate commitment to the County's mission, vision, values, and goals.

Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently.
• Experience with electronic and mechanical measuring devices.
• Knowledge of GPS equipment operation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
• Strong communication skills to interact with the public and team members.
