About the position

M. Susi & Son, Inc. is seeking a full-time Surveyor / Project Manager with at least 5 years of experience in surveying, estimating, and project management, particularly in road reconstruction and site work. The role involves on-site work in the Boston area and requires strong technical skills in civil engineering and project management.

Responsibilities

• Surveying using a TOTAL STATION system
• Perform all aspects of layout and engineering for streets under contract for reconstruction
• Measure quantities of items on various road reconstruction projects and summarize on daily reports
• Work with other Project Managers and Engineers of municipalities to track and log daily measurements for pay estimates
• Consult with Lead Project Managers to address concerns and assist as needed
• Attend meetings with lead Project Managers and Crew Foreman, as well as meetings with awarding authorities
• Formulate schedules and obtain work permits as needed
• Perform take-off work on projects being bid and assist with job costing information
• Assist with coordinating subcontractor work
• Assist job crews with various tasks as necessary

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields
• 5+ years in a similar position
• Experience with a TOTAL STATION survey system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Great interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
