About the position

As a Surveyor at Freedom Forever, you will play a crucial role in the solar industry by providing professional site auditing services. Your primary responsibilities will include gathering technical data necessary for solar system design and preparing permit-ready documents to facilitate installations. Responsibilities

  • Travel to project sites to obtain necessary information for technical design documents for solar systems.
  • Create detailed rooftop map layouts for solar arrays, including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers to gather facilities assessment data.
  • Conduct physical site audits using auditing tools, including tablets and measuring devices.
  • Upload site audit documents to coordinate with the design/engineering department for permit-ready documents.
  • Follow Freedom Forever Standard Operating Procedures for site audits to ensure smooth handoffs between departments.
  • Maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle safely.
  • Develop relationships with the sales team, design professionals, and subcontractors to support business activities.
  • Gather detailed structural data on various building types and identify issues that may interfere with installations.
  • Collect all electrical data required by the company.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction, engineering, or architecture.
  • 1-3 years of construction experience preferred; site audit and solar experience is a plus.
  • Ability to understand, read, and comprehend contract documents and plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing site audit documents and conducting meetings with customers.
  • Physical ability to work on roofs and in attics, and lift 50+ pounds occasionally.
  • Valid state driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel to different offices as needed.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including at least one weekend day.
  • Adherence to all safety procedures required by the company.
