About the position
The Surveyor position at Actalent involves performing both field and office work related to surveying tasks. The role includes construction layout, topographic data collection, boundary research, and utility research, as well as office responsibilities such as boundary and control calculations, CAD LiDAR processing, and field data processing. The position primarily focuses on municipal and public sector projects in the Metro Detroit area, with a hybrid work model allowing for one day of remote work per week after training.
Responsibilities
- Perform field work including construction layout and topographic data collection.
- Conduct boundary research and ALTA surveys.
- Execute utility research as required.
- Perform office work including boundary and control calculations.
- Process CAD LiDAR data and extract relevant information.
- Handle field data processing and construction layout calculations.
- Assist supervisor with tasks to ensure quality project delivery on schedule.
- Work on a variety of projects in and around Metro Detroit.
Requirements
- Experience in surveying and total station operations.
- Proficiency in survey CAD software.
- Ability to perform boundary and control calculations.
