About the position

The Sushi Clerk position at Don Quijote involves preparing and serving sushi and sashimi, ensuring the quality and freshness of seafood products, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities

• Cutting, packing, and cleaning fish
• Food preparation and ensuring seafood is handled properly
• Checking product temperature to ensure freshness and quality
• Maintaining a knife grip to cut fish or seafood to specification
• Weighing, pricing, labeling, organizing, and rotating perishable products
• Preparing sashimi/sushi platters
• Unpacking and stocking seafood items
• Maintaining cleanliness of the store and work areas
• Providing premier customer service and engaging in suggestive selling
• Meeting or exceeding department sales goals
• Exemplifying teamwork and being open to training in other departments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives
• 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment preferred
• Experience as a Sushi chef or Fish Cutter preferred
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds without aid, occasionally more with assistance
• Exposure to potential hazards with respect to equipment and cold temperatures

Nice-to-haves

• Restaurant experience: 1 year preferred
• Fish cutting experience: 1 year preferred
