About the position

The Suspension and Accessories Technician at Overland Van Project is responsible for the installation and modification of various components in camper vans, ensuring high-quality builds that emphasize comfort and versatility. This role requires a keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The technician will utilize hand and power tools to perform critical tasks that directly impact the safety and functionality of the vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Cutting van chassis walls to install windows and flares, roof vents, and air conditioners.
  • Installing roof racks, ladders, accessories, lights, bumpers, solar panels, pop-tops, etc.
  • Installing suspension components to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Installing alternators, winches, air compressors, etc.
  • Occasionally mounting, balancing, and installing wheels and tires.
  • Installing extended range fuel tanks and relocating DEF tanks on truck chassis.
  • Installing seating solutions and properly sealing rooftop air conditioners, vents, rooftop tents, and other exterior rooftop accessories.
  • Assembling large FRP/Foam habitats for expedition trucks.
  • Modifying truck chassis to accept expedition box sub-frames, underframe storage boxes, additional fuel tanks, etc.

Requirements

  • Familiarity or experience installing offroad suspension/lift kits is required.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to relay information to area leads, managers, and customers.
  • Previous lead or supervisor experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a mechanic for at least 1 year is preferred.
