About the position

The Sustainability Manager for Supply Chain in the Americas at Ralph Lauren is a pivotal role that focuses on driving sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing supply chain. This position requires a regional sustainability expert who will lead various sustainability programs, ensuring alignment with the company's sustainability standards and expectations. The manager will work closely with suppliers to implement sustainability practices that cover critical areas such as energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste management, and chemical impacts. In this role, the Sustainability Manager will provide subject matter expertise for the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) performance improvement and Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) implementation. The manager will engage with suppliers post-assessment to foster tangible performance improvements in sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs). This includes delivering training sessions, webinars, and capability-building initiatives tailored to the needs of suppliers in the Americas region. Regular collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership within the regional sourcing department, as well as external partners, is essential to drive alignment and progress towards Ralph Lauren's supply chain sustainability goals. The manager will also monitor supplier sustainability performance through data collection and analysis, utilizing internal and industry tools, and will identify opportunities for supplier capability building in partnership with global sustainability and sourcing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sustainability subject matter expertise for in-region Higg FEM performance improvement and ZDHC implementation.
  • Manage and drive post-assessment supplier engagement to deliver tangible performance improvements in supplier sustainability KPIs.
  • Deliver individual and group follow-ups, site visits, trainings, webinars, and capability-building initiatives for suppliers on sustainability topics.
  • Engage regularly with cross-functional teams and leadership to drive alignment and progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Monitor and follow up on supplier sustainability performance through data collection and internal tools.
  • Identify and deliver in-region supplier capability building opportunities and deployment strategies.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in apparel, textile, and leather supply chain/manufacturing sustainability.
  • Strong understanding and passion for environmental sustainability issues and impact measurement.
  • Subject matter expertise in energy, GHG, water, wastes, and chemicals impact areas in the manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, industrial engineering, chemistry, sustainable development, or energy management.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Established network of industry stakeholders in the region.
  • Fluency in Spanish (verbal and written) and strong verbal and written English.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office applications.
