About the position

The Reporting & Systems Analyst position at Manulife Investment Management is a vital role for an early-career investment professional focused on sustainability. This role involves supporting the Sustainable Investing team by developing and implementing sustainability reporting initiatives, managing sustainability-related data, and providing technical guidance to a diverse team. The analyst will work closely with investment professionals to enhance sustainability strategies through data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of sustainability reporting initiatives.
  • Gather and organize sustainability-related data for the Manulife Investment Management Sustainability Report and other reporting initiatives.
  • Provide project-based support for data governance, including developing and maintaining project timelines and process documentation.
  • Work with investment professionals to support the onboarding and data maintenance of sustainability data platforms.
  • Support the automation of data aggregation across all capabilities.
  • Prepare data tables, visualizations, charts, maps, graphics, presentations, and slide decks to support investment professionals.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in sustainability, engineering, computer science, business, finance, or the natural sciences; a graduate-level degree is an advantage.
  • Passion for sustainability and appreciation for the importance of data in achieving goals.
  • Ability to review and research large amounts of information and summarize findings.
  • Ability to conduct complex analytical tasks and explain processes and results simply.
  • Previous experience with GIS, carbon accounting, impact measurement, biodiversity risk, physical risk, and supply chain risk.
  • Experience collaborating with technology teams.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis methods, including authoring process documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Python, and/or R.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to conduct high-quality QA/QC.
  • Demonstrated experience with sustainable investing and reporting.
