About the position

The PNC/Skyla Zero Waste Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing sustainability initiatives at the PNC Music Pavilion and Skyla Credit Union Amp. This role focuses on implementing and managing a zero waste program, ensuring efficient waste sorting, and supporting the growth of sustainability efforts within the venue. The supervisor will work closely with the Venue Sustainability Manager to develop and adapt the program to meet new objectives and enhance resource recovery efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Zero Waste Supervisor onboarding training.
  • Assist with Zero Waste Coordinator training and oversight.
  • Be onsite during pre-season venue setup to ensure zero waste operational procedures are in place.
  • Assist in the mid- and post-show waste sorting process of all recycling, composting, donations, and landfill materials.
  • Be available to work show days and non-show days to ensure all waste is sorted and diverted.
  • Assist with overseeing the material sorting process of all recycling, composting, reuse, and donations materials.
  • Assist with Front of House Zero Waste initiatives as outlined by the Venue Sustainability Manager.
  • Relay boots on the ground observations to guide areas of improvement and overall program development.
  • Contribute ideas to improve material circularity based on most commonly seen items in the waste stream.
  • Assist the Venue Sustainability Manager with educational support to all crew members and fans.
  • Maintain a clean sorting area and support the post-show pick after each event.
  • Step in and oversee sustainability processes in the event the Venue Sustainability Manager is unavailable.
  • Support compliance with local environmental policies and mandates.

Requirements

  • Ability to work outside in variable weather conditions.
  • Strong time management skills to show up on time and work late hours.
  • Dedication to participate in sustainability initiatives that have a real and immediate impact.
  • A positive attitude and strong sense of teamwork.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Experience in events or zero waste events is a plus.
