About the position

The Sustaining - Electrical/Hardware Engineer II role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise focuses on enterprise server design, development, and sustenance. This hybrid position requires working in the Spring, TX office 3-4 days per week, where the engineer will be responsible for technical accountability, leading project teams, and ensuring compliance with design and development standards. The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and mentoring within a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Owns platform overall technical accountability in terms of field quality, open issues, second source efforts and new feature assessment and validation.
  • Leads multiple project teams of other electrical hardware engineers, extended engineering functional teams and internal, outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms, including design, validation, tooling and testing.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and system development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the electrical hardware design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
  • Corrective and Preventive action implementation to ensure compliance with closed loop corrective analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Typically 3 years experience.
  • Using electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Good understanding of fishbone analysis and 5C/8D process.
  • Experience working on complex hardware and system level issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
