About the position

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Sustainment Web Applications Programmer/Analyst role to support a United States Coast Guard client. This position is critical as it focuses on delivering innovative operations and solutions through proven successful methods. The ideal applicant will be versatile, possessing a broad background and a demonstrated ability to produce quality work. Candidates must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, and deadline-intensive environment. It is important to note that this position is not eligible for teleworking or remote work, and the work will be conducted at the Health Safety and Work-life Service Center in Norfolk, VA. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for performing web and database system improvements and enhancements for the existing Safety Information System (SIS) web-based and SQL applications. This includes supporting and maintaining web interfaces, providing database improvements and maintenance using scripting, database load utilities, and stored procedures. The candidate will also compose, tune, and maintain complex queries, create stored procedures that are exportable to SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for report generation, and create and maintain database dictionaries. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with translating and documenting requirements into technical designs, providing change control and configuration management within the software development life-cycle, and preparing, updating, and reviewing application documentation as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform web/database system improvements and enhancements for existing Safety Information System (SIS) web-based/SQL applications.
  • Support and maintain web interfaces.
  • Provide database improvements and maintenance using scripting, database load utilities, and stored procedures.
  • Compose, tune, and maintain complex queries.
  • Create stored procedures exportable to SSRS for report generation.
  • Create and maintain database dictionaries.
  • Translate and document requirements into technical design.
  • Provide change control and configuration management within the software development life-cycle.
  • Prepare, update, and review application documentation as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology or similar discipline.
  • At least six (6) years of computer systems analysis and design, programming and/or systems integration experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination.
  • At least four (4) years of successful database programming and management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio ASP/ASP.NET/C#, JSRS Remote Scripting, JavaScript, VBScript, SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft SQL experience to include database management, writing of complex queries and creation of stored procedures.
  • Must have completed Cybersecurity Competencies of IAT Level II. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC or Security+ CE (Minimum).
