About the position

The SVP, CFO WMX position at Warner Music Group involves providing financial leadership and strategic planning for the WMX division. This role is crucial in managing a significant budget, overseeing financial reporting, and driving business outcomes through effective financial strategies. The CFO will collaborate with various teams to enhance revenue flow and ensure the successful execution of business plans while maintaining financial controls and risk management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the President of WMX in planning and executing the financial strategy of the division.
  • Provides financial leadership for tactical and strategic plans to deliver financial results.
  • Owns budget and forecasting for over $375 million in operating costs.
  • Oversees management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the divisional P&L and balance sheet.
  • Supports over $175 million in Artist Services revenue and associated costs across the US and Europe.
  • Provides analysis and consultation in developing new business opportunities.
  • Partners with individual teams within WMX and corporate to streamline data flow for maximum efficiency.
  • Identifies improvements via best practice replication and innovative solutions.
  • Manages financial controls and risk management procedures.
  • Updates department heads on financial performance and key finance initiatives.
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to finance and IT related procedures and processes.
  • Trains and develops the WMX Finance staff.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven business process improvement skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and related financial reporting requirements and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build alignment for initiatives and programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • 10+ years of senior-level financial experience and management experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
