About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Allianz Life is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the company's operations, service, and technology strategies. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO leads various departments including Enterprise Operations, Technology and Transformation, Information Security, and Business Controls. The role focuses on ensuring the operating model supports business growth, enhances customer satisfaction, and drives operational efficiency. The COO also plays a key role in strategic enterprise-wide transformation plans and fosters relationships within the industry to leverage best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to design and support an operating model that fosters business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Set operations, service, and technology strategies; develop operational models to lead customer and financial professional satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Improve service models/strategies and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build operational controls to strengthen protection and function, administrative and reporting procedures, project methodologies, risk identification, and strategic systems.
  • Develop collaborative relationships across the Company and with the Group COO Community.
  • Stay updated with internal and external trends to facilitate strategic plans for operational performance and growth.
  • Promote collaboration across the organization and within the Chief Operating Office division.
  • Evaluate operational performance by analyzing data and creating goals in collaboration with Finance.
  • Lead the reshaping of the culture to improve service quality delivery and exceed customer expectations.
  • Analyze trends and needs to assess functional responsibilities, competitive strengths, and vulnerabilities.
  • Build an organizational structure and operating standards responsive to evolving needs.
  • Cultivate industry relationships and establish connections with distribution partners and colleagues at Allianz Group.
  • Bring technology strategy supporting priorities, partnering with Allianz Technology of America on IT service delivery.
  • Improve processes, enhance productivity, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 11+ years of leadership experience in the Insurance industry.
  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership teams.
  • Experience with large-scale transformation plans.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals and plans.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, service providers, and customers; must have experience in IT vendor management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
