About the position

The Information Security Officer (ISO) at Banesco USA is responsible for managing the Information Security Program, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information systems. This role involves developing and maintaining security policies, overseeing incident response activities, managing physical security systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ISO will collaborate with various departments to enhance security measures and provide training to employees on security practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Information Security Program, including policies, procedures, and technical systems.
  • Develop and maintain security policies related to infrastructure and applications.
  • Approve access requests and changes to information technology systems.
  • Lead incident response activities and coordinate with law enforcement as necessary.
  • Oversee physical security systems, including alarms and guard services.
  • Conduct security audits and continuous monitoring of IT security controls.
  • Coordinate annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) testing.
  • Approve change management requests impacting security posture.
  • Evaluate vendor security and conduct due diligence prior to selection.
  • Collaborate with management on strategic planning for information security policies.
  • Revise security programs to comply with legal and regulatory changes.
  • Provide training to employees on security policies and practices.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT systems and controls.
  • Monitor and test IT controls, including intrusion detection and firewalls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten years of experience in the Banking industry in the Information Security unit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of banking systems and processing activities.
  • Experience managing physical and logical information security systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify weaknesses in systems.
  • Technical skills in application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessment, and security audits.
  • Strong presentation skills for various organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills.
