About the position

The SVP, Synchrony Ventures is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the company's capital investing and portfolio management. This position leads the investment team in sourcing equity investments, conducting due diligence, and managing strategic partnerships. The role requires collaboration with executive leadership to define investment priorities and drive growth initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Platform CEOs and Executive Leadership Team to define investment priorities and drive growth initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to influence senior leadership on equity investment opportunities.
• Source new investments by meeting with founders, attending networking events, and evaluating prospects.
• Build relationships with investors and corporations in the FinTech community.
• Lead the investment team and manage the investment pipeline reporting to senior management.
• Analyze investment opportunities and sectors, presenting cases to the investment committee.
• Lead all aspects of equity investment transactions including sourcing, due diligence, and negotiation.
• Develop financial models to support investment decisions and assess return scenarios.
• Monitor financial and operational conditions of portfolio companies and facilitate quarterly reviews.
• Work with portfolio companies to execute growth strategies and maximize investment value.
• Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience in Financial Services, or High School Diploma/GED with 14+ years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in originating and executing equity investments or venture capital transactions.
• Minimum 5 years of negotiation experience.
• Minimum 5 years of team leadership experience in financial services or venture capital.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with a corporate venture group or private equity firm.
• Strong network in the venture capital industry and fintech ecosystem.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate venture capital integration and competitors.
• Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.
• Experience developing presentations for C-Level executives.
• Ability to manage a high-performing team and influence others across the organization.
• Superior financial acumen and modeling capabilities.
