About the position
The SW Casting Lead position involves leading the setup and pouring of concrete, as well as the assembly of forms for constructing floats, wave attenuators, and various precast and pre-stressed concrete products. The role requires overseeing casting procedures and personnel to ensure high-quality finished products, while also coordinating with quality control to meet company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and pouring of concrete and assembly of forms.
- Review blueprints and shop drawings for concrete products under the direction of the plant manager.
- Coordinate with the QC lead to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Perform quality control functions as assigned by the QC lead.
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment before concrete pouring begins.
- Oil assembled forms and ready them to accept concrete.
- Operate forklifts and install polystyrene foam into assembled forms.
- Pour concrete into forms to specified thickness and install clamps and braces.
- Operate vibrators to settle concrete and remove trapped air.
- Place wire mesh on top of foam and tie it to rods.
- Complete pouring processes and assist with other casting processes as assigned.
- Operate various hand and power tools and learn safety rules and techniques.
Requirements
- Experience in leadership roles within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
- Experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of safety rules and techniques in a manufacturing setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in concrete casting or related fields.
- Familiarity with precast and pre-stressed concrete products.
