About the position

The Sweeper Truck Operator is responsible for operating and driving a sweeper truck to clean streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. This role involves performing routine maintenance on the truck, following designated routes, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle. The operator will also be responsible for reporting any equipment malfunctions and ensuring proper disposal of debris.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive a sweeper truck to clean streets, parking lots, and other designated areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on the sweeper truck to ensure proper functioning.
• Empty debris from the sweeper truck and dispose of it properly.
• Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure thorough cleaning of assigned areas.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sweeper truck.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B driver's license with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Experience operating heavy equipment, such as a sweeper truck or similar machinery (helpful but not required).
• Knowledge of route driving and ability to follow designated schedules.
• Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the sweeper truck (helpful).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot debris and other items that need to be cleaned up.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with tractor-trailers, commercial driving, freight, roll-off trucks, or delivery driving.
