The role also includes receiving deliveries, checking weights for accuracy, and matching inventory to bills, as well as taking customer orders both in person and over the phone. Physical demands of the job include consistently lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, standing for the duration of the shift, and safely operating necessary equipment. The associate may also be involved in training new staff, merchandising candy displays, and preparing specialty drinks or treats as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, polite, and knowledgeable customer service.
  • Greet customers personally and thank them for shopping.
  • Wrap selections, label ingredients, and price and bag repackaged items.
  • Rotate products to keep older items in front and ensure displays are stocked.
  • Familiarize with available products, including specialty options.
  • Regularly check products for quality and freshness.
  • Receive and put away deliveries, checking weights for accuracy.
  • Take customer orders in person and over the phone.
  • Inform manager or supervisor when inventory is low.
  • Conduct quality control checks on products for packaging issues and sell-by dates.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the department.
  • Assist with merchandising candy displays as assigned.
  • Train new associates if assigned.
  • Fill self-serve bins as needed.
  • Make dipped chocolates, lollipops, and specialty drinks if applicable.
