The Swim Instructor position at Goldfish Swim School in Columbia is a part-time role focused on teaching swim lessons to children. Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials and lesson themes for swim lessons.
• Teach swim lessons to groups of 4 swimmers, or 6 in parent-and-me classes.
• Communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each lesson.
• Maintain a commitment to attendance, missing no more than one class every 6 weeks.
• Find and prepare a substitute teacher when unable to teach, leaving notes for them.
• Be in the water for up to 4 hours at a time.

Requirements

• Ability to swim and pass a basic swim test (50 yards).
• Commitment to missing no more than one class every 6 weeks (80-90% attendance).
• Ability to prepare for and communicate with substitute teachers when necessary.
• Ability to be in the water for extended periods, considering the effects of chlorine.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching or coaching.
• Background in child care, camp counseling, or similar roles.
• Previous experience in customer service or retail.
