About the position

The Swim Instructor at Goldfish Swim School is responsible for delivering engaging swim lessons to children, ensuring their safety and progress while fostering a fun learning environment. This part-time role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organization, with a focus on teaching water safety and swim skills through a structured curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials and lesson themes based on the schedule.
• Teach swim lessons to groups of 4 swimmers, or 6 in parent-and-me classes.
• Communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each lesson.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings before lessons start.
• Find and prepare substitute teachers when unable to teach.

Requirements

• Ability to swim and pass a basic swim test (50 yards).
• Commit to missing no more than one class every 6 weeks (80-90% attendance).
• Ability to be in the water for 4 hours at a time.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching or coaching.
• Background in child care, camp counseling, or customer service.
