About the position

The Swim Instructor at Goldfish Swim School is responsible for delivering engaging swim lessons to children, ensuring their safety and progress while fostering a fun learning environment. This part-time role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organization, with leadership positions available within the first 3-6 months. Instructors will work closely with students and their families, celebrating achievements and maintaining a positive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials and lesson themes based on the established curriculum.
• Teach swim lessons to groups of 4 swimmers, or 6 in parent-and-me classes.
• Communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each lesson.
• Maintain a commitment to attendance, missing no more than one class every 6 weeks.
• Find and prepare a substitute teacher when unable to teach, leaving detailed notes for them.

Requirements

• Ability to swim and pass a basic swim test (50 yards).
• Commitment to 80-90% attendance for scheduled classes.
• Ability to be in the water for up to 4 hours at a time.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or teaching.
• Background in athletics, art, theater, or childcare.
