About the position

The Swiss Manufacturing Engineer at ARCH Medical Solutions is responsible for designing optimal processes for the fabrication of Swiss/Medical parts according to customer requirements. This role involves both primary and secondary operations, focusing on new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new product development, including creation of Swiss CNC programs for new products.
  • Creation of manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Creation of operation prints as required.
  • Coordinate with quality on inspection methods.
  • Participate in pre-production processes to ensure all items are kitted and available at setup time.
  • Create and maintain setup sheets.
  • Create jobs and process documentation as required.
  • Partner with Management and Production on floor support.
  • Assist with quoting part rates.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying and coordinating 'Kaizen' events and 'quick hit' improvements.
  • Research, procure, and develop new technology including tooling, work holding, and equipment.
  • Participate in quality activities such as NCMR review, root cause analysis, and material review board.
  • Mentor other engineers and machinists to improve their manufacturing and engineering skill sets.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in machining with a focus on CNC Swiss.
  • Contract manufacturing experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years CAM programming experience (Part Maker a plus).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering-related function.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • CAM programming in GIBBS and/or Part Maker.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Strong communication & customer-service skills.
  • Knowledge of tooling, speeds and feeds, and work methods is critical.
  • Ability to be open-minded and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to setup and operate machine tools.
  • Ability to program machine tools.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and utilize GD&T proficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal training or supervision.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • 3D CAD skills.
