About The Position

The Switchgear Sales Representative at Caterpillar, Inc. is a field-based role focused on marketing and selling Electric Power generator paralleling switchgear and Automatic Transfer Switch products. Requirements

• Knowledge of Power Generation Products including generator sets, paralleling switchgear, and automatic transfer switches.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex assignments.
• Ability to influence others in the work group, dealer personnel, and customers.
• Prior customer-facing experience.
• High level of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the electric power industry.
• Familiarity with generator controls and switchgear technology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sales revenue and profitability goals for the assigned territory in paralleling switchgear and automatic transfer switches.
• Act as a sales liaison among dealers, consulting engineers, customers, and other Caterpillar personnel.
• Perform complex analysis work, identifying and resolving technical problems related to specifications, quotes, and power quality.
• Counsel dealers on increasing human performance capability and assist in sales strategy planning.
• Provide design assistance to consulting engineers and end users for electrical system design and optimization.
• Train consulting engineers, customers, and dealers on Caterpillar's products and services.
