Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction activities for compliance with environmental project plans and commitments.
  • Report observations and violations to customer site contacts.
  • Inform Environmental Compliance Inspectors and team members of relevant observations and activities.
  • Resolve differences in interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Ensure safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of documents and tools.
  • Update supervisors on progress and delays of tasks or assignments.
  • Maintain and ensure safe usage of company vehicles and field equipment.
  • Meet established project deadlines and carry out duties according to procedures.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports daily.
  • Review plans, specifications, and working drawings for project activities.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities with contractors and project leaders.
  • Prepare reports on findings to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of construction activities.
  • Maintain and update water quality records such as Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental controls.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid driver's license and meet company auto insurability requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and mitigation requirements.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction, plans, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and materials used in construction.
  • General knowledge of erosion control procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and under inclement weather conditions.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in environmental compliance inspections.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and geological resources.
