About the position
The primary function of this position is to provide appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for each student assigned to the class. The teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction at an appropriate level, assessing and encouraging student progress, and managing the learning environment effectively. The role also includes virtual duties, requiring effective communication with stakeholders in a virtual platform and participation in professional learning to enhance online instruction capabilities.

- Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies
- Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents
- Facilitates home-school communication
- Maintains confidentiality of students and students' records
- Works cooperatively with school administrators and colleagues
- Complies with school, district, and state administrative regulations
- Conducts assigned classes at scheduled times
- Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline
- Maintains accurate, complete and appropriate records
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings and other assigned activities
- Models correct use of language, oral and written
- Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
- Implements designated curriculum
- Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy
- Assigns reasonable tasks and homework to students
- Acts in a professional manner and assumes responsibility for the total school program
- Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Supervises students in out-of-class settings
- Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s) and other supporting staff
- Performs other duties as required by the district, the school, or student need
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field Biology 6-12
