About the position

Kiley Prep is seeking dedicated educators for grades 6-8 who are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes equity and social justice. The role emphasizes the importance of anti-bias education and aims to empower students to become agents of change. Educators will engage students in a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, while also focusing on character development and high-quality student work.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and instructional leaders to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students.
  • Assess students regularly, analyze data, and determine appropriate next steps for instruction.
  • Ensure that instruction meets the needs of all students, including those with special needs and English Language Learners.
  • Build relationships and communicate regularly with students and their families to solicit input and share academic progress.
  • Engage in learning about issues of racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education to examine personal biases and their impact on students.
  • Participate in and learn from regular professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching Special Education at the middle and/or high school level preferred.
  • Appropriate content/program area (Moderate Disabilities) and grade level license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience as an active anti-racist or advocate for equity preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a collaborative teaching environment.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.
