About the position

The System Admin Linux position at Agile Defense involves supporting the design and implementation of the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for Government Enterprise Networks (GEN). The role requires maintaining the infrastructure for the ACAS solution, conducting network and appliance scanning, and providing training to operators and Information Assurance personnel. The successful candidate will leverage their Red Hat Linux experience to ensure compliance and operational efficiency within the network environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install and patch operating systems and applications according to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
  • Assess current ACAS implementations and recommend changes for GEN networks.
  • Document the design steps for the ACAS solution, including IP addresses and physical locations of components.
  • Create network diagrams using Microsoft Visio, including hardware and software requirements.
  • Maintain connectivity of Nessus scanners and Passive Vulnerability Scanner's (PVS) with the Security Center (SC).
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for client ACAS solutions in the SharePoint portal.
  • Provide necessary reports.
  • Build Linux Servers from DISA provided ISO images.

Requirements

  • DoD 8570 IAT III or IAM II certification (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.) with a 180-day attainment period for lower-level certificates.
  • Related RHEL certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in supporting, configuring, and administering Linux systems.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x or greater in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity toolsets and processes, including STIGs and IAVA Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Redhat Satellite Version 6.12 or higher.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory Concepts, LDAP, or Kerberos.
  • Experience with migration from RHEL7 to RHEL8 using Leapp utility.
  • Ability to build or configure new YUM Repositories for patching purposes.
  • Familiarity with AWS/AZURE Cloud for future projects.
  • Scripting skills in Nessus Attack Scripting Language (NASL), Python, or Bash.
