About the position

The System Administrator 1 position at Amentum involves supporting mission-critical projects in the Cyber, Security, and Intelligence sectors. The role focuses on the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring the reliability and performance of various client/server/storage/network devices. The candidate will provide both Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, manage daily IT operations, and optimize system performance while working under an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Monitor and resolve issues for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Support escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
  • IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.
  • Experience with Linux (Red Hat/Rocky) administration.
