The System Administrator position involves providing comprehensive support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day IT activities, including monitoring systems and resolving problems as they arise. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration environments, which are essential for maintaining a modern IT infrastructure. Candidates should have experience with the installation and configuration of various operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2, Windows 7, VMWare ESXi, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 6 and 7. Additionally, familiarity with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) installations and support is required. The role also demands proficiency in using backup solutions such as Veritas Netbackup and Symantec Backup Exec for effective backup and image creation/management. The System Administrator will be responsible for Windows patching and management, utilizing Microsoft WSUS 3.0. Candidates should also have experience supporting multiple Microsoft Windows Server active directory domains and be knowledgeable about the full lifecycle sustainment of Enterprise Cyber Defense Infrastructure in support of Tier1/Tier2 Cyber Network Defense Service Providers (CNDSP). Furthermore, the position requires the ability to obtain Security+ Certification within six months of starting. Candidates should have experience with NetApp Data Ontap Cluster Mode and 7-mode operating systems, as well as familiarity with Data Ontap application layer technologies such as Snapmirror, Snapvault, SnapRestore, and Snapdrive. Knowledge of SAN implementations, iSCSI, NDMP networking protocols, and disk management concepts such as RAID groups, Aggregates, and LUNs is also essential. A working knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking concepts, good analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, and strong oral and written communication skills are necessary for success in this role. The ability to work independently is also a key requirement.
