About the position

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a System Administrator 3 (Server Room) to work out of Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is crucial in supporting the 392d CTS in the design and evaluation of systems to meet functional specifications of new features. The System Administrator will generate concepts, designs, and provide support for implementation, assisting with the development of objectives, requirements, CONOPS, and processes for the 392d CTS Battle Lab environments. The essential duties of this position include overseeing the overall security, integrity, and operations of the 392d CTS Battle Lab systems and networks in accordance with various Air Force Instructions (AFI) and local policies. The administrator will operate networked and stand-alone systems at unclassified, secret, and top secret-SCI classification levels. Responsibilities also include performing systems administration on platforms such as SGI, SUN Microsystems, personal computers, and Mac systems, running multiple operating systems including Solaris, Linux, Windows 10, Windows 2016 or later, and VMware ESXi v6 or later. The role requires identifying, troubleshooting, and restoring network, server, and client systems as outages occur or as needed on a daily basis. The administrator will install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software conflicts. Additional tasks include application loading, system hardening, troubleshooting, tuning, and technical support for hardware and software used within the 392d Battle Lab environments. The position also involves lifecycle management and installation of new physical and virtual servers, operating backup software for data protection, and utilizing network-scanning tools to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities. The System Administrator will participate in all phases of system development, emphasizing planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases. They will maintain confidentiality regarding information being processed, stored, or accessed, and develop and review communication system requirements. The role also includes studying organizational structures and unit missions to understand their impact on systems operation, as well as developing and maintaining operational, systems, and technical schematic architecture drawings. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall security, integrity, and operations of 392d CTS Battle Lab systems and networks.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in system engineering, administration, and management.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or additional years of experience may be used in lieu of education.
  • IAT Level 2 certification required.
