About the position

The System Administrator 3 position at M.C. Dean involves working within the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit, focusing on the design, integration, and maintenance of electronic security services for various clients. The role requires hands-on involvement in programming, configuring, and testing security systems on construction sites, transitioning to a technical specialist role for system sustainment. The position demands a proactive approach to system administration, ensuring the security and functionality of various electronic systems in support of U.S. Government operations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, maintain, test, secure, and monitor various security systems including Badging Systems, Visitor Management Systems, and Video Surveillance Systems.
  • Work on-site during the construction phase to program and configure systems for installation.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to troubleshoot systems during construction and sustainment phases.
  • Manage physical security system support to meet operational requirements.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks.
  • Provide direct technical support and escalation for system issues.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and project leadership.
  • Train system users and support personnel on system operations.
  • Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions including backups and integrity checks.
  • Document system performance and service requests comprehensively.
  • Install and manage device firmware and system software with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in IT, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity.
  • Associate's Degree with 8+ years of experience in IT, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity.
  • High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience in IT, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an IAT Level 2 certification such as CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience in system administration, triaging system problems, and implementing new workstations.
  • Understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Active Directory and large-scale networking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP) Certification.
  • Experience with CCure 9000 Access Control Systems.
  • Experience with Bosch Video Management Systems (BVMS).
  • Microsoft SQL Server Query writing and management experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft Server.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of operating system software.
