About the position

The System Administrator 4 position at Blackstone Talent Group involves managing an enterprise network that includes VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Databases, and network infrastructure. The role is critical in ensuring the infrastructure meets Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO), while also providing a positive customer experience. The position requires strong foundational skills in various technologies and the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022
• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 and 9
• Administration of Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres database management systems
• System patching and remediation
• Reviewing system logs for errors and anomalies
• Interfacing with multiple service providers to ensure all system agents and services are functioning properly
• Interfacing with end users for a wide variety of reasons ranging from resolving client issues to providing basic end user training on Lenel OnGuard
• Monitoring system performance and performing daily health checks
• Maintaining system security posture including quarterly STIG updates and SCAP scans, system audits, and responding to system security concerns
• Manage client accounts for Lenel OnGuard
• Performing routine database maintenance including backups/restorations, SQL scripting, and maintaining database security settings

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Information Systems and 7+ years of hands-on experience OR Associates degree in a technology field and 10+ years of hands-on experience in similar environments
• Minimum Baseline IAT II (IAT III preferred) certification
• Microsoft Windows Server certification (any version); MCP or MCSA acceptable; MCSE preferred
• Active Lenel OnGuard Certified Professional certification or willingness to obtain one
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
