About the position

The System Administrator (Business Analyst) at Indiana University Bloomington is responsible for the administration and support of both physical and virtual servers within the Kelley School of Business. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure while also engaging in business analysis to identify technology solutions that meet client needs. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to implement effective IT solutions and support faculty research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support physical and virtual servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and vulnerability assessments.
  • Perform project management and coordination for infrastructure-related projects.
  • Maintain security and efficiency of assigned servers, implementing updates and managing patches.
  • Support Active Directory Organizational Units (OUs) and manage group policy and accounts.
  • Manage Windows print management and ensure seamless integration across the enterprise.
  • Assist and lead networking tasks related to Wi-Fi, VLAN, DNS, and DHCP reservations.
  • Provide support for escalated ServiceNow tickets and technical issues as part of the Help Desk team.
  • Administer Exchange mailboxes, including calendars and distribution lists.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and perform mitigations for assigned servers.
  • Participate in infrastructure and innovation initiatives to improve the IT environment.
  • Assist faculty with research-related IT needs and projects.
  • Perform PowerShell scripting and vulnerability management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • 2 years of business analysis experience working on complex problems.
  • Proficient communication skills and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
  • High commitment to quality and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical skills and service-oriented approach.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in Windows server administration or related technical roles.
  • Experience with SQL server management and web server application management.
  • Knowledge of VMware or similar virtualization environments.
  • Experience managing Exchange mailboxes and distribution lists.
