The System Administrator I - Clinical Communications and Mobility position is a critical role within the Health Information Technology Services (HITS) team, focusing on the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of server-level enterprise applications and medical devices. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the systems supported, as well as the ability to assess the impact of organizational changes on these systems. The System Administrator will serve as a vital link between various IT teams, including Radiology, Lab, and Pharmacy, ensuring effective communication and resolution of system issues. As a Tier-II support resource, the System Administrator will engage with other team members and resources as necessary, acting as a coordination point for issues related to systems across all IT teams. This includes maintaining usable systems for end-users, working with vendors and internal hospital teams to resolve system issues within established service level agreements. The role also involves maintaining thorough documentation of system configurations, contacts, and functionalities, as well as contributing to a knowledge base of troubleshooting tips. The responsibilities extend to planning and scheduling system upgrades and updates, ensuring compliance with organizational policies regarding system security, and verifying application logs to maintain data integrity. The System Administrator will also be responsible for ensuring that systems are backed up according to approved methodologies and that data can be restored in the event of a failure. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of application methods for managing print queues and the ability to create and distribute reports. The System Administrator will act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems, monitoring vendor roadmaps and maintaining effective communication with system vendors to ensure proper support. A strong technical foundation in databases, networking, hardware, software, and medical devices is essential, along with the ability to perform systems analysis for new requests. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity and functionality of clinical communications and mobility systems within the healthcare environment.
