About the position

As a System Administrator I at iNovex, you will play a crucial role in providing Training Center and Laboratory Support. This position is essential for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of our nation's most important missions, both domestically and internationally. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining all hardware and software in compliance with established policies required by the customer for their production and training networks. Additionally, you will establish and maintain user accounts and help desk functions for both staff and students, ensuring that all users have the necessary access and support to perform their duties effectively. In this role, you will be expected to manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems, which includes user accounts and workstations. You will also provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems related to IT systems. Your experience with various software and systems, including Microsoft Exchange, IBM Big Fix, and remote desktop management, will be critical in assisting users and maintaining the overall functionality of the IT environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing and maintaining computers, including tablets, laptops, and desktops, as well as experience in configuring and managing LINUX, UNIX, and Windows operating systems. You will also be involved in the dispatch system and will remain engaged in the resolution process to ensure that all issues are addressed promptly and effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing high-quality support to all users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for operating and maintaining all hardware and software in compliance with established policies.
  • Establish and maintain user accounts and help desk functions for staff and students.
  • Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems, including user accounts and workstations.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Assist users in accessing IT systems and provide support for the dispatch system.
  • Install and maintain computers, including tablets, laptops, and desktops.
  • Configure and manage LINUX, UNIX, and Windows operating systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline plus at least 5 years of systems admin experience.
  • High school diploma or GED plus 10 years of systems admin experience is acceptable.
  • Must meet DoD Directive 8570 IAM Level 1 requirements (Security + at a minimum).
  • Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2013 and 2016.
  • Familiarity with User Activity Monitoring (UAM) and IBM Big Fix.
  • Knowledge of VxRail, MS Point, and MS Active Directory.
  • Experience with MS Windows Desktop Computing and Remote Desktop Management.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerShell Integrated Scripting Engine (ISE) and MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Professional and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with Blackboard and Avaya/Cisco phone systems.
