About the position

The System Administrator II at Watershed Security is responsible for deploying new technologies, maintaining and troubleshooting both cloud and on-premises server operating systems, and ensuring the security and performance of systems. This role requires limited supervision and involves monitoring system activities, performing scans, and optimizing configurations to maintain a stable technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy new technologies and design, install, configure, and maintain server operating systems.
• Perform system integration testing, upgrades, and troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises systems.
• Monitor system activities and fine-tune system parameters for optimal performance.
• Perform ACAS scans and STIGs, and control resource usage to maintain a secure environment.
• Provide regular status reports to management on progress and challenges.
• Collaborate with team members for effective communication and coordination.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and recurring team meetings.

Requirements

• CompTIA Security + CE certification.
• Experience with Linux servers and Windows administration, including MECM and SCCM.
• Clear understanding of Group Policy, Active Directory, DNS, and Windows desktop troubleshooting.
• Scripting experience, particularly with PowerShell.
• Familiarity with RHEL 8 and 9 for Linux administration.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
